My purpose is to create and inspire
My name is Asia'Jona Desunique (A-GEE-ahnna), and art has always been my sanctuary. I’m from Columbus, GA, and for as long as I can remember, creating has been my way of making sense of what I couldn’t put into words.
Painting gave me space to process emotions that felt too big to hold. It’s how I learned to tell the truth to myself, and then to others. Over time, I realized I wasn’t just telling my story. I was speaking to something shared. Something sacred. The silent experiences we carry but don’t always know how to release.
My work is for those moments. The tender, hidden ones. The ones that ache to be seen.
I create art not just for myself but for those who see a piece of their own story in my work. Whether you’re an art collector, a first-time buyer, or someone seeking emotional resonance in a painting, I invite you to explore and connect with my creations

Art helped me find my voice again. Now I create to offer that same mirror to others, especially those who’ve felt overlooked, unseen, or too sensitive for the world. Whether you’re here to find something beautiful, feel something true, or reconnect with your own softness, I’m glad you’ve found your way here.
I work with acrylic, oil, pastel, charcoal, paper, ink, even dirt when the feeling calls for it. My style is rooted in contemporary abstraction and neo-expressionism. I’m inspired by artists who tell honest stories through their work like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Frida Kahlo, Toyin Ojih Odutola, Carrie Mae Weems, Kara Walker, and Kehinde Wiley.

You’ll find that spirit reflected in my signature series, Canvas Confessions. It’s where I share the deeper truths behind each piece, the healing that happened while creating it, and the version of myself I met along the way.
I care deeply about protecting and uplifting others through art. As someone who grew up not always feeling safe, I’m passionate about advocating for youth, survivors, and creatives who are still learning how to trust their voice. My mission is rooted in healing, community, and soft power. I want to help build spaces where it’s safe to feel again.
